The Stretford End: 1956 - 2026 | The Unofficial Museum | Monday 2nd March - Sunday 8th March

Running from Monday 2nd March to Sunday 8th March, the exhibition will transform the Unofficial Museum space into a heartfelt tribute to Manchester United, the fans who have followed them for generations, and the powerful role football continues to play in shaping the local identity.

At the heart of the exhibition is Brian’s remarkable personal collection of Manchester United memorabilia, built over a lifetime of dedicated support. Brian first attended Old Trafford in 1956, and this year marks his 70th season following the club, an extraordinary milestone.

Since the 1960s, Brian has hand-sewn banners and flags for every major United final, creating powerful visual expressions of loyalty, pride and hope. He has carefully preserved every single one, and for the first time, these treasured pieces will be displayed together, offering visitors a rare glimpse into decades of football history, craftsmanship and fandom.

Alongside the banners and flags, the exhibition brings together artwork, personal stories and tangible memories that chart how football has helped forge bonds across generations, creating a shared culture and collective passion that still unites Stretford today.

Visitors are warmly invited to explore the exhibition, share their own stories, and become part of this living story of sport, place and belonging.

The exhibition will be open to explore on Unit 100 King Street, Monday 2nd - Sunday 8th March 12-6pm.
